Tricycles are fun!

Monday, November 24th, 2008

Phoebe decided yesterday that she can ride a tricycle. We knew she could pedal but she didn’t want to accept it. She finally decided it was possible and can pedal on her own. She doesn’t get very far and tends to pedal backward but not bad for her first day. 🙂 She even let me record her while she showed off. YAY! Good training Jon! Now if only you could train her with a certain potty.

First trip to the movies

Thursday, July 3rd, 2008

We took Phoebe to see WALL-E on Friday, June 27, 2008.

Jon and I desperately needed a vacation of some sort so we took Thursday and Friday off. Grace was at beauty school and Chris was working and Robert and Gigi were out of school for a week so my mom was watching all three rascals. We figured it was a good time to take a couple days off and have my mom watch one less kid.

The movie was great. We took my mom and the three stooges. Getting seated and making sure everyone had all the refreshments they needed was as fun as I expected. Jon went to get food with Robert so the rest of us went to find seats. We found them right away but then I had to go back down to get a booster seat for Boo. I sat her down and all was fine. Robert came up with his little tray and told me Jon needed me. We both made our way down and found Jon who had recruited an employee to help him. He had gotten the better food deal which was a large popcorn and two MONSTROUS drinks and a kid meal. I think I drank about 1/8th of the Coke he got me. 😀 We made our way back up and then I left to go to the restroom and to get Phoebe some water. When I left the restroom to get water I saw my mom carrying an almost empty popcorn bin. She said they had spilled it. She took the blame. I sent her back and got a refill and the water. When I got back up there, my mom asked if I had an extra straw. Uh, no. She had given one to Robert. I later found out from Jon that he made sure to get plenty of straws. Kids! I saw the mountain of popcorn on the floor and went back down to see if someone could clean it and to get a straw. Came back up without finding someone but made my mom happy with a new straw. OK… start the movie! LOL

Phoebe sat between me and Jon and I think we were pretty distracted the whole time just watching her reactions. She loved it. She saw so many WALL-E previews already that I think it was just one big preview for her. She’d periodically say “Oh no!” Definitely the loudest kid there but it was funny. Robert only asked to go to the restroom once and my mom took him. Lucky Jon. 🙂 Gigi was very good the whole time. She got mopey later when my mom told her she couldn’t sit next to Phoebe in the car. Gigi moves around too much in her carseat.

Phoebe started preschool!

Tuesday, July 1st, 2008

I can’t believe it. My baby started preschool yesterday. She was dressed in her little sky blue dress and black converse. I dropped her off just before 9am. I knew things would be OK when I saw how curious she was watching the other little kids playing and walking around. When she saw the fire extinguisher on the wall she pointed at it and said “Wall-e Wall-e”.

I snuck away when she was sitting and playing with a bowl of dried pasta. They tell me she cried a little when she saw me leave but her paparazzo uncle said she seemed fine when he peeked through the blinds. Crazy tio.

I picked her up a little past noon and felt bad when I saw her sitting at a little table by herself reading books. The other kids were gathered at the big table eating their lunches. She seemed content though and didn’t even notice when I walked in. They made me feel bad because I hadn’t taken her an afternoon snack (I didn’t know I needed to) so they gave her a little something to munch on while she waited for me.

Other than that she seemed OK about being left at school. It was only 3 hours but it seemed like an eternity to me. I could only think of her the entire time I was at work.
